Lent Journal – Day 13
 
One of my Lenten disciplines this year has been to commit to posting something each day through this Journal.  It has been good to share what some of you are giving up, taking on and committing to this Lent.
 
Today, may we pause once again, this time to pray for the people of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi who are suffering the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai.
So many have lost homes and livelihoods.  Yesterday it was confirmed that almost 200 hundred people have died and is estimated that that figure will rise to over 1000 with many, many people still missing.
According to the UN, Cyclone Idai has triggered a “massive disaster” in southern Africa affecting hundreds of thousands if not millions of people.
 
Please pray for the people who have lost everything, who have lost loved ones; for the rescue services, aid agencies and relief organisations.
